As of the 1st of January 2012 the NSW Government has adjusted the First Home – New Home Scheme providing stamp duty exemptions for First Home Buyers. From the 1st of January, First Home Buyers are still able to receive exemptions on new homes valued up to $500,000 and concessions on transfer duty for new homes valued between $500,000 and $600,000.
In October 2008 the Federal Government introduced a temporary deposit guarantee capped at $1 million per person.
Despite economists’ predictions for another rate cut the Reserve Bank have today decided to keep rates at 4.25.
