Welcome to Encompass Credit Union

"Encompass Credit Union has proudly served transport industry employees and their families for over 50 years."

Back in 1953, when the only way to get to Manly beach was by an old ferry, a small group of ordinary workers saw that there needed to be a means of helping their fellow co-workers, family and friends get a head start to their own home, car and a better way of life. These visionaries understood the true difficulties their workmates had in meeting their immediate and long-term financial needs for life. To get a loan was tough back then, to get a bank to listen was even tougher and so the Credit Union was formed - A co-operative owned by the members for the members.

Things have changed a lot since then, but one thing remains the same, and that's our commitment to supporting and listening to the men and women who are the rail and transport family. Whether you're talking to us, getting credit with us or simply using our everyday banking services, know that Encompass is the place where people know your lifestyle, your needs and desires and your working conditions. No matter what the challenge, we'll always lend a helping hand, looking after you, our members. Your money is still our business, and making your money grow makes our smiles grow - it's what we do best.
From our tiny beginnings in a corner office with our first loan of one-hundred pounds (A$200) we have grown and are supported and owned by the transport workforce with 20,000 members, assets of over $250 million, easy and convenient 24/7 access to ATM, Readyphone and Internet Banking services. And most importantly, profits come back to our members by way of attractive interest rates, or indirectly providing extra services and better facilities for members.

Our Staff have a genuine passion for ensuring that we make banking a positive and happy experience for our members. In fact, taking into account the interest of our members and community is something that is in our blood. As a business we like to do things differently and we encourage our staff to do the same.
